During the semester:

1. Keep careful attendance records.

2. In the second or third week of classes, you will receive a yellow roster (The NA Roster). As stated in your contract, you must complete this roster on time. The attendance information is used to update the official records in both the Registration and Financial Aid offices.

3 . Periodically provide students with progress reports. We do not post official midterm grades, but it is important that students know where they stand at all times, especially before the last day to withdraw.

4 . As many students are tracked by various campus offices, such as Student Support Services, Retention, Athletics, Silas Craft Collegians, and Rouse Scholars, you may be contacted to give information about particular students’ attendance and grade data throughout the semester Try to get that information back to those offices as soon as you can so that they can keep track of the students’ needs.

5 . Check your email and mailbox regularly, whenever you are on campus.

6 . At least two weeks before final exams, talk with any students who might qualify for an L grade. The L grade is assigned in developmental courses to students who have not mastered the course objectives due to individual learning characteristics. In order to qualify for an L grade, students must work with steady diligence, effort, and near-perfect attendance. A last minute effort is not sufficient. The L grade is not computed in students’ grade point averages. Those who receive an L grade must re-register, pay, and repeat the developmental course.

7 . Check with your course coordinator or division chair for details on how to handle issues that may arise (e.g. if a student cannot take an on the scheduled date, plagiarism, etc.).
