How do I get help in the classroom?

There are three types of problems that can occur in the lab: Emergency, Non-Emergency, and Other.

An Emergency is a computer problem that absolutely prevents the class from going forward. For example, your class is printing essays to turn in and the printer fails. Or, you've got an internet based lesson plan and NO ONE can get online.

A non-emergency is a problem that occurs, but can be worked around. For example, one printer out of two is down. Or, one computer has a problem, but the student can just move because there is free space.

You should call x4444 from the phone in your classroom for all computer problems (emergency or otherwise). If you have an emergency (as defined above) be sure to tell the help desk when you call. SCS would prefer you call in the problem and NOT use the logbook.

An other problem would be one where everything is working, but you aren't sure exactly how to use some particular feature of a program. You should send an email, call (410-772-4463), or make an appointment with Roger Stott.
